Garden Planning and Construction
We discuss your ideas and space, and plan a garden that works for you, in the space you have. This is usually included in our initial free estimate, though we also offer detailed design services - especially useful when you're considering a full yard renovation or when your balcony, deck, or front-yard garden needs to looks especially sharp for neighbours and visitors!

We feel strongly about making gardening possible for everyone, and we love the problem-solving involved in answering your particular needs. From double-height raised beds to fully wheelchair accessible gardens, we're excited to work with you.
Raised Beds
Raised beds are the backbone of a good vegetable garden in the Lower Mainland. We can build any size, number and shape. Raised beds promote good drainage in our wet climate and when combined with rotating your crops each year, they keep down garden pests and diseases - without chemicals!
All our raised beds include soil - your choice of organic or regular clean soil. All our soils are rich with manure and other organic matter, with about 25% sand for good drainage.

She's available to anyone looking for extra gardening wisdom, whether you're planting your very first garden or wanting some help with a particular problem in your food garden. She'll visit your garden, balcony or deck - and answer all your questions.
Garden Repair and Reconditioning
Need to repair or alter your garden beds and recondition your garden? We'll clean it up, dig in new manure and prepare your garden for the growing season.
Drip Irrigation Systems
Drip irrigation is the most water-conserving and plant-friendly method for watering. These systems can be run from taps or rain barrels - and in our climate, where summers are dry, the benefit to the environment is immeasurable.
Custom Planters and Other Garden Structures
In addition to garden beds, our specialty is gorgeous custom planters, trellises, arbours and other garden structures, including:

Prices
Prices for any of the above services will vary greatly, depending on the scale and design of your project.
Free Estimates: We are happy to provide a first hour’s discussion and resulting estimate for free.
Planning and design work - Most planning and design work comes as part of the free estimate, but where a more thorough-going design, drawings or other extensive planning work is needed, we charge $40/hour.*
Consultation with Our Garden Expert: In celebration of this new service, we're offering an on-site consultation from our resident gardening guru for just $40/hr.*
Garden Bed Construction - For a general gauge, the first basic garden bed (a 10’x5’ rectangle, built of common fir, hemlock or pine) is usually $350, including construction, installation and soil. Subsequent beds are $325 each.* Unfortunately, we can't absolutely guarantee these prices, as the costs vary depending on the specific terrain, location, and design of your garden beds - though we always strive to be fair and clear about what we expect the costs to be.
We will also build raised beds of cedar or ipe (premier woods for outdoor use), and are happy to provide organic soil instead of our usual clean soil.
Custom Containers, Beds and Planters - We offer high-craft carpentry at fair prices, based on the cost of materials, resources, and the time needed to source, build and install them with soil.
Drip Irrigation Systems - Prices can vary a great deal, depending on your garden design, but drip watering systems from a faucet are generally $80-$100 per garden bed (10’x5’), including materials and installation.*
Outside Vancouver Proper - We hate to do it, but we do charge extra for work in areas outside of Vancouver itself - as unfortunately, it costs us more for travel, transport of materials, and soil delivery. We are careful to scale our prices to the actual expenses we accrue - not to some arbitrary amount.
